I was most fortunate this year to participate in the inaugural offering of a graduate class called Computers in the Classroom. I just posted reflections on this amazing class to Alec Couros’ blog through a VoiceThread. The name of the course did not come near to doing justice to this brave, open, connected learning experience that Dr. Couros developed, honouring his deep conviction to this learning model.
This course was a landmark in the field of learner-centred experiential learning. If you visit Alec’s blog you will hear and read first-hand the thoughts of others who participated as presenters, students, or participants in the open class experience. Another benefit of the open course experience is that it still lives and is available for all to read, listen, and through your own blog, reflect.
You will want to continue to watch Alec’s blog, Open Thinking and Digital Pedagogy (if you don’t already) as he writes about the research associated with this course. It will be an ongoing and major contribution to the field.
